EXCITEMENT GROWS IN THE BUILD-UP TO PLAYOFFS AT SASHOC NATIONALS

Though there was still plenty to play for, some teams were able to assert their dominance ahead of the playoffs on Sunday’s third day of competition at the SASHOC U-16 Nationals in Stellenbosch.

In the boys’ A-section, KZN Coastal remained unbeaten with four wins from as many games. After raking in 12 points, they were well clear of their opposition, holding a five-point gap at the top of Pool A.

Host province Boland held nine points at the top of Pool B, one point above Western Province ahead of the final round of group matches.

In the girls’ A-section, Southern Gauteng were unbeaten in Pool A, and with four wins and 12 points under their belt, they were three points ahead of their nearest opposition.

Southern Free State had taken full control of Pool B, picking up four straight victories to open a five-point advantage at the summit of their group.

The six-day SASHOC U-16 Nationals, which comes to a close on Wednesday, is being streamed live on the SuperSport Schools app.

Live results are available at National Events Under 16.
