With the SA Schools Hockey Association (SASHOC) continuing to soar in its ongoing promotion of youth sport in South Africa, the national federation has announced a fitting new partnership with Airlink – Southern Africa’s premier regional airline.
“With Airlink coming on board as our airline partner SASHOC will be able to focus on our mission to promote hockey as a team sport at schools across the country. Unlike other sporting codes that focus on individual skill, hockey enables participants to learn and appreciate team collaboration, strategy and tactics, which are important values in a developing society like South Africa,” explains SASHOC Chairperson Wendell Domingo.
“There is a close alignment between SASHOC’s values and objectives and Airlink’s. As a fierce competitor in our own league, providing customers with the widest set of routes and flight choices, backed up with top class service, we appreciate the importance of nurturing talent and promoting team play. This is why we are getting behind the federation and its important work in youth development,” said Airlink CEO and Managing Director, Rodger Foster.
Airlink is a premier, privately-owned regional airline. From its hubs in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban its fleet of more than 60 modern and efficient jetliners serves a comprehensive network of 45 destinations in 15 countries throughout Southern and East Africa as well as Madagascar and St Helena Island.
