Some of the title favourites started to take early control of their groups on Saturday, as the action gained momentum on day two of the SASHOC U-16 Nationals in Stellenbosch.
In the girls’ A-section, KZN Coastal had raked in nine points, settling at the top of Pool A after picking up three wins from three games.
Southern Free State were alo unbeaten in Pool B, securing nine points from three matches, and they were two points ahead of their nearest opposition.
Western Province held seven points at the top of Pool B, with two victories and a draw. They were just one point ahead of Boland and Western Province, who were narrowly separated on goal difference in a tight contest.
The six-day SASHOC U-16 Nationals, which features the country’s top age group players, will come to a close on Wednesday, 13 July.
