REGIONAL COMMITTEE STRUCTURES

All Regions must check that their own house is in order. Schools in regions must get more involved in their committees. Regional committees must be properly constituted – Boys, Girls and Primary sub-committees and a combined committee of all three (all affiliated to Senior Regional Federation).

There must be at least a chairperson, a secretary, and portfolio representatives for Rules & Technical and High Performance. If funds are held by this combined committee, a treasurer would be essential. This combined committee must have at least the chairs of Boys, Girls and Primary sub-committees.

Committees must make objective decisions on coaches, managers and selectors. Use outsiders, where possible, especially as selectors.

Note: There have been problems with selections in regions/provinces. Don’t forget to use experienced people (knowledgeable about the modern game) in your region.

ALL REGIONS MUST SUBMIT A REGIONAL REPORT BEFORE THE AGM IN OCTOBER 2023.

All regional committee structures need to mirror the SASHOC structure:

• Chairperson
• Vice Chairperson
• Secretary
• Treasurer
• HP/Coaching/Selection/Modified Hockey
• Rules and Technical
• Events/ Trials
• Transformation (can be included in any of the above)
• Additional members can be co-opted if needed.
